The first time most people meet Mauran Bluestone, she is already moving — vaulting over a counter, apron fluttering, bright smile lighting up her dark features before she has even fully landed. She is the youngest of the Bluestone siblings, and she carries that position with the particular energy of someone who grew up surrounded by older brothers and learned very early how to hold her own among them. She is warm, enthusiastic, and entirely uninterested in the kind of careful dignity her family’s wealth might be expected to require of her.

She calls her brother Dev. He calls her Bubbles. The bond between them is immediately apparent to anyone in the room — the kind of sibling relationship built on genuine affection rather than obligation, where the reunion after an absence produces an embrace that makes strangers feel like they’ve walked in on something private.

She works in the family’s gemstone establishment with an enthusiasm that suggests she actually wants to be there, which in a family as successful as the Bluestones is not something to be taken for granted.
