Perisis (per-EE-sis)
Role: Goddess of Weather and Nature
Symbol: Cloud with Lightning
Weapon: Two golden hand scythes — Thunder and Lightning
Perisis may be the most immediately recognizable of the gods, not for her power, but for her appearance. She resembles a halfling, perpetually disheveled, with very short bright green hair and the look of someone who just came in from working in a garden — because she almost certainly did. Her hands always look dirty even when they are clean, and there are nearly always smudges of earth on her face and clothes. She never wears dresses, always trousers and boots. She is the swiftest of all the gods, and some believe her volatility — because her moods can shift as rapidly and unpredictably as the weather she governs — comes from the sheer frustration of how impossibly slow everything and everyone else appears to her.
She is a goddess of contradictions: small in stature but immense in power, gentle enough to kneel and water a garden, fierce enough to wield twin golden hand scythes named Thunder and Lightning.
Interesting Facts:
- She is the fastest being among the gods — which may explain why patience has never been her strong suit.
- Her followers pray to her not only for their harvests, but weather, be that pleasant or tumultuous.
